A12. Getting Inspiration When you Feel Stuck,

What do you most want to learn about photography right now? I want to learn more about how lighting effects a great piece of photography and how to work with different angles. What is your passion that is NOT photographic? My passion is learning new things. How can you tie your “other passion” and photography together? I can use my passion of learning to explore things I have not tried in photography and learn different techniques to create beautiful images. What idea interested you the most from the second article? I am really interested in shooting under water and capturing an image of a person lying beautifully in water and using a different perspective. What are your usual sources for inspiration? My usual sources at inspiration is Pinterest and others around me help me think on the spot about what to shoot. What would you assign yourself as a personal (not from me) project if time and money were no object? I would assign my self an adventure around the world taking images of

#J2. Ransom and Mitchell—“A Wonderful Mess,”

What is your reaction? My reactions to these images is just how unique and abstract they are. I find both these images to be very interesting in wanting to know what is happening and their vibrant colors. How do you think they do it? They first take actual pictures of what can be made and then they must have put the image through photoshop to create more vibrant colors and the unrealistic things attached to both the bird and the women.  Which gallery was the most interesting and why? The most interesting gallery to look at was the Fine Art because the images all told unique stories with the water and creatures under the water but still making the feel like real life. Which gallery was the least interesting and why? The Commercial gallery was the least interesting for me to look at since they overall don't look realistic and seem very odd to my liking and random. Read the “about r&m” page? Who are they and who does what? Ransom and Mitchell are a  still and motion creative

A11. A Beginners Guide to Capturing Motion

In order to primarily control shutter speed, our Canon cameras need to be set to which mode? Canon cameras need to be set to in a faster shutter speed and with a sharper focus on the object. The article gives four reasons why motion techniques in photography may be used. What are they? 1. Blurred subject with background in focus 2. Blurred background with subject in focus 3. Freeze the entire field of vision or blur everything 4. Using the continuous shooting feature on your camera called chrono photography.  The faster the shutter speed,  the sharper  the focus on the subject. The slower speed will _blur_ a moving object. Blurring the subject with a focused background is achieved by _using a slower shutter speed_. Having a blurred background with a focused subject is also called _planning_. What do you have to do to successfully pan? When you have a clear view of the moving object and ample room to swivel you camera. How would the image look if you pan in the OPPOSITE directio

A10 Aperture: Go to and Read

What is the aperture? The exposure is a measure of how much light hits the sensor of your digital camera. The opening in a camera to bring to project light.  What are the effects of controlling the aperture? When you adjust the size of aperture at the front of your camera it effects the shutter speed. Also the aperture controls the depth of field.  What effect does a wide open aperture have on shutter speed? If the aperture is wide open the shutter speed is open for less time/ fast shutter speed. What effect does a small (closed down) have on shutter speed? A closed aperture effects shutter speed by slowing down the shutter speed and having more time to let light.  What did you learn from adjusting the simulated camera knobs? I learned that the smaller the aperture you have the slower the aperture will be to let light in and the larger the opening the aperture is the faster the shutter speed will be.  HOW & WHEN TO USE APERTURE PRIORITY MODE What are the differences be

A9. Why You Should Learn Manual Mode

What three settings make a photographic exposure? The ISO, Shutter speed, and Aperture.  How does the focal length affect the shutter speed? Shutter speed always needs to be one over your focal length to offset hand handled camera shake.  If the focal length is 70mm, what is the slowest shutter speed to hand hold? The slowest shutter speed to hand hold is 1/70th of a second.  It the focal length is 300mm, what is the slowest shutter speed to hand hold? The slowest shutter speed to hand hold is 1/300th of a second. The lower the number on aperture (such as f/3.5) will do what to the depth of field? The lower the number on aperture the less depth of field and more broken there will be.  What is depth of field? The distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in image Which aperture lets in less light, f/3.5 or f/22? The aperture f/3.5 lets in less light.  What is ISO? The ISO is the sensitivity of your cameras sensor to light.  The higher
