A13. Types of Photography

  1. Which type looked the most interesting to you and why?  I find portrait photography to be the most interesting to me as it is more detailed and able to tell a story through the image one one person up close.
  2. Which type look the least interesting to you and why? The type I find to be the least interesting is the Candid photography because it seems a little to much like a snapchat and as if it took little to no work at all.
  3. Which type was the most surprising to you and why? The most surprising to me was the Hi Speed Photography as it is able to show clear movement in the subject while also being very interesting to look at.
  4. Given that you live in Texas, which 5 types do you think would be the easiest to do while living here? The easiest for me to do in Texas would be Portrait, HDR, Architectural, Long exposure, and Mobile photography.
  5. Given that you live in Texas, which 5 types do you think would be the hardest to do while living here? The hardest photography to do in Texas is Reflection, Satellite, Stock, Underwater, and Landscape photography. 
  6. Which 5 types would you most likely have to move to a different place in order to specialize in those areas? I would have to move to shoot Aerial, Underwater, Travel, Storm, and Satellite Photography. 
  7. Which 5 types do you think you would have to have specialized knowledge in order to be an outstanding photographer for that type? I would have to specialize in Stock, Underwater,  Satellite, Storm, and Real Estate Photography. 
  8. What lifestyle would you like to have based on your values, interests, and other considerations? I would like to be able to live in the city capturing sunset and sunrises of the skyline with also architectual photography.
  9. Given the lifestyle that you would most like to have, which types would make that lifestyle most possible? Why? The types that would make this lifestyle possible are Landscape, Architectural, Forced perspective, and HDR Photography because I would have more space to move around and capture all sorts of different types of pictures in photography with different setting of light and focus.
  10. Given the lifestyle that you would most like to have, which types would make that lifestyle least possible? Why? To make this lifestyle least possible the types of photography would be Wildlife, Aerial, and Bodyscape because I am usually surrounded by tall building and not that much wildlife in the city to take pictures of besides dogs and squirrels.

Do you usually have your cell phone out and visible? If I need my cell phone to do something I will usually have it out, but I try and not to have it out a lot.  Would you rate learning something new as a complex task or an easy task? Concentration statement

1. In my concentration, I photographed my friend to tell the story of how I once felt in my life: forsaken by God. I depict the development of my faith in God by using a transition from black and white to color. Focusing on contrast and texture, I chose Charlotte to portray a painful stage in my life, after my father passed away. I sought to express my journey from loneliness to a state of freedom. The pieces in my concentration do this through the discovery of finding joy in God and nature. 2. The inspiration behind my concentration was the artistic photographer, Oscar Gustav Rejilander, who had a style I wanted to emulate: vintage figurative photos. From his photo titled “Homeless” I observed how locked away this homeless child must have felt as he was bent over with his head on his knees. I felt his pain and moving forward in my concentration I began with contrast emphasizing how Charlotte feels locked away and forsaken by God as I felt due to the unexpected death of my father
